Taken a while!

It has taken me a while to come back to blogging..no idea about the comfort and space i was enjoying and the life at its own pace.Trying to quit this urge of living like this and overcoming them:)-i cant stop myself from writing now.
Countless adventures and experiences waiting to be discovered here.I know how much you all have been part of me in this travel of mine..these are the experiences and fond feelings i have experienced at our native when away for  vacations.
The golden sands, magical sunsets, magical monsoons, homely meals, red hibiscus that floated everywhere, some amazing dinners with awesome family, amazing musical concerts and dance performances and family marriages:)- Heres an ode to what we enjoyed!

a Wistful Desire

I still have not got over completely the fact that i am miles away from the southern most tip of India, away from the monsoons.A wistful desire to return back in thoughts..
Thoughts always binds me to the land where belong to.Steamed up memories or tied up memories.
I remember reading this that "Memories and emotions are all tied up. The more strongly you feel about a situation influences how you remember it" .Keep the wonderful memories and keep moving on..

The richness of life lies in the memories that we have forgotten..Cesare Pavese

The monsoons that followed me .....

A drizzle and then a heavy down pour for minutes as i sat to write this..That's me and monsoons!
The Monsoons never lost their way this time..and no wind could change its direction this time.It rained and rained and rained, till our heart and minds were full..how soothing was the nonstop rain and the nonstop rain songs in FM.

I always stepped out with my umbrella ..and in between a little prayer goes out to the people where severe erosion and floods happened!

how wonderful was it if we could travel back in time...childhood memories

dipping in nostalgia

the grace of the violets

always with an umbrella

some morning tea

to eat

books ,the place, the wetness still remains

my warmth in winters

The traditional old house with tiled roofs, the long windows that always creaked when closed, the colourful ixora flowers that surrounded the home.Images that gave me some warmth this winter  morning.

These are all images that made up our summer and monsoon holidays down  south this year
Old images  are beautiful,arent they?

The rainy stories on the painted brown box,the hibiscus flowers and the milky tea(no fancy cups here:)- the steel tumblers and glasses, the peeling paints on the parapet are all images that flash when  I think of our home down south.
The grandma who sits waiting patiently for us..every year, the stories that she tell us,the rain that poured constantly

the rain drenched ixora and a tumbler of chai...the peeled  off parapets...its an old house

it rained the whole night

ixoras wet and eaten by  bugs

the arecanut palms leaf fallen

the colours definitely matched, the dull browns and pinks...love them

old photographs, the  old memories, nostalgia,a ravivarma oleograph, the right hand corner are my parents

the book on the rusted box

rainy memories,hot and humid days

love these slats

loved each angle

the colourful hibiscus

the tea that got cold in my hands

the collection

Summer vacations unfolded..

“Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

As we were in the sleepy little town on the banks of a beautiful river, it rained all night yesterday.the mornings had the fragrance of yesterdays rain, the lotus leaves and its drops, it was as though it held the many drops for me,  the pink fruits that fell ,the book that sat beneath many a tea cup,the drops that cling to the grills and the beauty that surrounded us.

Some real time at my grandmas place, where she grew up..

Our own divine sacred grove (Sarpa Kavu),the blue ,white and violets that spread the space, the calmness that persisted in the spaces, the stories that surrounded the groves and the stories that i heard  , the aura that surrounded the place..prayers to be answered for sure...
